While there are ways to market your VA Business on the internet, if you have the time and patience to get started. First you need to take the time to teach yourself how to be an effective internet marketer, and it s important to get in the right frame of mind for hands on learning to help push forward your new career. Many VA businesses simply throw up a website and wait for the traffic to come, and you probably realize that in this economy, that s just not going to cut it. It s going to take a little more work than that, so sooner, rather than later, you re going to need to prepare yourself to learn about internet marketing.

Along with learning about Internet marketing, it is a good idea to get acquainted with basic Internet tools as well. There is a world of electronic marketing tools that are available today. Some of them are free, while others are at a very small base price. There are some basic things that any internet marketer will need to know and learn about using these tools that will help you along the way. Social media such as YouTube and MySpace, viral marketing techniques, starting your own newsletter and joining professional networks such as http://LinkedIn.com are just a few of the ways Virtual Assistants connect with professionals that need their services, as well as each other.

Unless you already have a marketing background, chances are that as you begin the quest for market your VA Businesses, you will come across terminologies and buzz words you are unfamiliar with. Don t worry about that so much – buzz words come and go, tools come and go, but basic marketing principles always remain the same. Marketing is about selling a service that makes things better or easier for your prospect, not about how much easier they are making life for you. Let the client know that you can make all 100 phone calls in one day and will call every day for the next week if you don t get through. Let the client know you love Excel workbooks. Let them know you think Quickbooks are a breeze. (But only if it s true for you!)

Don t let yourself be intimidated as your start your quest for online marketing and your new virtual assistance venture. Attitude makes the difference between success and failure. Always try to focus on the positive – remembering that there is nothing that you can not learn to do and do well is the first step in creating the right approach. You will find this level of confidence to be tested from the very start of the process, so the sooner you develop this sort of can do attitude, the better off you will be.

For people who have doubts on their basic ability to learn new things, remind yourself that there is nothing you can not learn, and any obstacle along the way is really just a small speed bump on the road to success.

If you need to spend an hour or so researching marketing terms, then take the time and do it. Instead of feeling ignorant because you don t understand something, look it up in Google. It is well worth the time and effort. Your new VA Business will pay off in the long run – and you ll be thanking yourself later on down the line.
